Submissions for Issue 7 of Second Factory
Ends on
From November 4th through December 4th, UDP's Second Factory journal is accepting submissions in the fields of Poetry, Prose, Nonfiction, and Visual Art for its seventh issue.
Please submit 6 pages of material, plus a one-page cover letter that includes a brief paragraph about your work, a bio, and an email address.
Please Note: Second Factory publishes mostly poetry. Your submission will have a better chance if it includes multiple pieces instead of one long one (we don't usually publish more than 4 pages per contributor).
FOR FICTION/PROSE/NONFICTION submissions: 'Traditional' fiction and prose submissions are not likely to be accepted. That said, we're always open to surprises.
FOR VISUAL ARTS submissions: second factory only publishes in black-and-white with one other color throughout (the color varies by issue). Your piece has a better chance of acceptance if you take this into account. Or, if you send us a full-color piece, please be aware we will ask you to change to B&W with one additional potential color.
FOR TRANSLATORS: If you are accepted, please be prepared to provide all necessary rights info and permissions.
Simultaneous submissions are accepted.
Submissions will be read on a rolling basis by the journal editors beginning in January. We hope to respond to submitters quickly. Please be aware that all second factory editors are volunteers and as such we apologize beforehand for any delays that may arise. Please do not write to check in on your submission until six months have passed. Only use submittable for queries; any emails to the Presse will go unanswered. We look forward to seeing your work.
Submitters can purchase past issues of Second Factory. It's a great way to support the journal! However, it is optional and is not mandatory. Editorial decisions will not be affected by whether or not submitters have purchased the journal. For those people who do purchase a copy, the issue will be mailed to the address provided in the submission form in the spring.
